JYOTSNA GETS SILVER MEDAL IN JHARKHAND STATE INTER DISTRICT ATHLETICS CHAMPIONSHIP HELD AT RAMGARH.

Chas, (Bokaro): Class IX student Jyotsna Raj (14 years) of DPS Chas brought laurels to her alma mater and to the District of Bokaro by securing the 2nd position in the 1st National Javelin Day, (This day commemorates the Victory of Neeraj Chopra who won the First Olympic Gold Medal for India in Athletics at Tokyo Olympics in the year 2021) in Jharkhand State Inter District Junior/ Senior Athletics Championship held at Rajrappa Stadium by Ramgarh District Athletics Association on 7 August 2022. (Jyotsna was honoured for her achievement at the school campus today after her return from the championship.) Jyotsna has participated in the championship for the age group under 16, in the senior category.

Congratulating Jyotsna, the Chief Mentor of the school Dr. Hemlata Mohan said, “It is a proud moment for the school. This is a grand achievement. Jyotsna has turned into a source of inspiration for many around. This proves that with determination one can achieve the highest accolades.” She further added that the students should always be enthusiastic about such participation. Parents and teachers play a vital role in motivating students, letting them believe in themselves, and helping them achieve heights. 

The Officiating Principal of the school, Deepali Bhuskute also congratulated the young Javelin champion for her outstanding performance and praised her hard work and dedication. She mentioned that it is very important for young children to learn the skills of sports as it supports a lot of virtue development and builds confidence.

Mr Suresh Agarwal, Member DPS Chas and the Secretary of D S Memorial Society, Chas shared his happiness and appreciated the effort of the student.

The school rejoices in the achievement made and wished her all the best for the upcoming tournaments in future. The parents were too gratified by the school’s mentorship.
