Dr. Gangwar elected as the President of the Bokaro District Yoga Sports Association

Bokaro. A unique initiative is being taken in Bokaro to connect school children with yoga practice, along with their all-round development. Yoga practice will now be included as a sports activity in schools in the district, similar to sports competitions such as cricket, football, and volleyball. In addition to students, district residents will also be connected with yoga-based sports activities. With this goal in mind, the Bokaro District Yoga Sports Association was formed on Saturday. During a meeting held on Saturday afternoon at Delhi Public School Bokaro, Sector-4, the State Secretary of the Association, Vipin Kumar Pandey, officially announced the formation of the district committee of the Association.

The committee unanimously elected Dr. A.S. Gangwar, Principal of DPS Bokaro, as the Chairman, Brajesh Kumar Singh as Secretary, Anjani Bhushan, Vice Principal of DPS Bokaro as Joint Secretary, and Harihar Pandey, HOD, Physical Education, Chinmaya Vidyalaya as Vice Chairman. Rajan Kumar Singh, Administrator, DPS Bokaro has been appointed as the treasurer. In addition to them, Nibha Kumari, Anil Kumar, and Raja Kumar have been appointed as joint secretaries. Meanwhile, the executive members include Meenakshi, Rajiv, Devdeep, Anuneha, and Nitisha Mukherjee.

On this occasion, the Jharkhand State Secretary, Vipin Kumar Pandey instructed the district secretary Brajesh Kumar Singh to expand the Bokaro District Committee within a week and make the state unit aware of it.

In his address, Mr. Pandey shed light on the objectives of the organization and emphasized on conducting yoga-related school games. For this, he called for rigorous preparation. The district president of the organization and the principal of DPS Bokaro, Dr. Gangwar, said that yoga is India’s invaluable heritage. It not only provides physical fitness but is also necessary for mental and spiritual peace. Yoga especially removes stress. It is extremely important to connect students with yoga for a stress-free environment to develop concentration towards studies and towards building a healthy India. He assured that not only in Bokaro district but also in the entire Jharkhand state, a new dimension will be given to yogasanas-based sports activities by the organization. In this direction, he assured all possible support from the DPS Bokaro family.
