INTERNATIONAL DAY OF YOGA CELEBRATED AT DPS CHAS WITH SPECIAL SESSION OF YOGA.

Chas (Bokaro): Carrying forward the legacy of healthy and peaceful life Delhi Public School, Chas organised a special assembly on the occasion of the 8th International Day of Yoga. Hundreds of students, teachers and staff participated overwhelmingly rejoicing the theme ‘Yoga for Humanity’.

The special assembly began with a prayer followed by the school song. The Physical Education teacher Mr. Nikhil Dutta along with the students put forward on display the human pyramid exhibiting the yogic postures. Everybody present at the occasion practiced several yoga postures and pranayamas like Padmasana, Vrikshasana, Surya Namaskar, Tadasana, Chandrasana and some breathing exercises such as Anulom Vilom and Kapalbhati to rejuvenate the body. The initiation of the yoga practice was done with the vibrational Om chanting. Mr Satyendra Mishra shared with the children the geographical significance of this day. Finally, the special assembly concluded with the singing of the national anthem.

In her message from Delhi, the Chief Mentor of the school Dr. Hemlata S. Mohan said, “Children are the future of our nation but education today is not enough to lead a life of contentment so she emphasized on including yoga in habit because the sprout of life today needs an incentive of exercise, discipline and spirituality.”

Addressing the assembly, the Ofg. Principal Deepali Bhuskute said, “Today the world has become a home to anxiety and distress. The only way out of this is a healthy mind and a healthy physique.” The Principal showed her gratitude to the Prime Minister to have such a foresighted vision that is going to strengthen the nation in all aspect.

DPS, Chas had an enriching session and, on this day, pledged to make India great. The programme was anchored by Mitakshara R.S. of Class X.
