The COVID-19 pandemic has led to a dramatic loss of human life worldwide and presents an unprecedented challenge to public health, food systems and the world of work. The economic and social disruption caused by the pandemic is devastating. In this emerging society, one thing is also evolving which is our Education system.
Technology has become the life saviour for the students and the teachers. E-learnings are new sources for both students and teachers. The sources which are strictly prohibited to be brought up in the schools and colleges are now the only medium through which teachers can interact with their students. E-learning found out to be more flexible to the students to grab the knowledge. Though only the private sectors have the facilities to provide E-learning to the children. The government schools are still not having that measures through which they can provide each and every student the facility of E-learning.
According to 2019 government survey, only 24% household have internet access. In rural India, only 4% household have internet access. According to the report, it is found that 55,000 villages in India didn’t have mobile network coverage.
Extra curriculum activities are equally important for a student’s growth apart from studies. Due to pandemic, there is no facility for extra curriculum participation also. Students are working more on laptops and mobile phones rather than physical text books, which leads their eyesight weak also.
We were not aware how this situation came up but we have to deal with this together. Successful delivering of education is important because learning from digital platform is far more different than learning in classroom. Interaction between students and teachers is important to understand the level of knowledge they share with each other. In the time of crisis, well-rounded and effective educational practice is what is needed for the capacity-building of young minds. It will develop their skills that will drive their employability, productivity, health and well-being in the decades to come and ensure the overall progress of India.
