BODY LANGUAGE – MIRROR OF INNER IMAGE

Communication is not only about expression but I feel it’s also our behaviour and feelings that find its roots in various forms of communication . It’s a powerful tool and all those who have mastered its effective use can change their own experience of the world and the world’s experience of them. And all communications definitely depend on the BODY LANGUAGE.  This reminds me of a famous Quote of Deborah Bul …..he opiniated that “Language is a very powerful tool. We had body language before we had speech, and apparently, 80% of what you understand in a conversation is read through the body, not the words”.

Hence we can also say that body language speaks louder than our overflowing words. It is presumed that our expressions, manner or tone touches the heart and soul of the other person more effectively than our WORDS.

When we exchange our thoughts through Verbal Communication we are in a Continuous mode of giving and receiving the speeches. Nonverbal cues such as tone of voice, gestures, and posture all play their part and we inadvertently adhere to    these skills since we are in our infant stage. The way we listen, react, tone our language increases trust and build up a strong net of connectivity among the people all around.

A brain research opines …. Whatever we feel is reflected in our body gestures, expressions and in a way is conveyed through our words.

Body language is the unspoken element of communication that we use to reveal our true feelings and emotions. So it compels me to express that in this materialistic world people who are masked or are behind the veil of innocence, their actions are also revealed with time.  When we can “read” signs like these, we can understand the complete message of what someone is telling you. We’ll be more aware of people’s reactions to what they say and do. And we’ll be able to adjust our body language to appear more positive, engaging, and approachable.

We have   probably heard the statistic that only seven percent of a message is conveyed through words. And the other 93 percent comes from nonverbal communication. Positive body language supports your points, helps you to convey ideas more clearly, and avoids sending mixed messages.

We lean forward to express that we are paying attention to what the person is speaking, we give head indications (nodding)  to show your agreement , hand movements…..  to greet either shake hands Or express resentment , good eye contact try to hold the other person’s gaze for a few seconds at a time. This will show them that you’re sincere and engaged.

So, reflect on how you use your body language – and avoid making assumptions! After all, interpreting body language should be a complement to talking and listening attentively, not a replacement for it.
