Two-day workshop begins at DPS Bokaro- 12 teams from Jharkhand selected for National Science Congress to be organised at Ahmedabad from 27th January

Bokaro : A two-day 30th National Child Science Congress (NCSC) workshop was organized today at DPS Bokaro in association with Science for Society (SFS), Jharkhand and Vigyaan Jagaran Samiti. The event focused on selecting and preparing teams for the National Level Science Congress. 18 teams from the State participated in this event and 12 qualified to represent Jharkhand at the National level of NCSC to be held from 27 – 31 January at Ahmedabad, Gujrat.

On the basis of project-evaluation by judges, Shatakshi and Payal Mahata (Bokaro), Juhi Priya Murmu (Dumka) were shortlisted in the NCSC Rural Junior Group while Doli Kumari and Taranum Gulnaz (Bokaro), Arpita Saha (Jamtara) were shortlisted in the NCSC Senior Rural Group.  In NCSC Urban Junior Group Riddhi Sharma, Saksham Jha (Bokaro) and Abhigyan (Deoghar) were shortlisted. Abhineet Sharan, Arpan Kumar and Prince Raj (Giridih) have been shortlisted in the Urban Senior Category.

On the first day of this two-day selection cum project-upgradation workshop, the General Secretary and State Coordinator of Science for Society DNS Anand congratulated all the participating teams and motivated them for their out of box projection through the prototypes and displays. On this occasion State Academic Coordinator Rajendra Kumar oriented the teams about the know-how of the National level requirements of this event. Team Jharkhand will be on their journey to Ahmedabad on the 23rd of January 2023.

Speaking about the workshop,Dr. A. S. Gangwar, Principal DPS Bokaro, said that  everyone is aware of the significance of science and its miracles to mankind. Today the whole world understands that we Indians can only bring flexibility to the set patterns of science. Leading global organizations like NASA too have acknowledged our innovative excellence. This has not only brought laurels to our country but has also made us self-reliant and such events are very important to provide a platform for the students to exhibit their scientific knowledge.

On this occasion, the Executive President of the society (Bokaro) Dr. M. P. Nayak, District Academic Coordinator P. Jyotirmoy, P. R. K. Verma and other members of the NCSC organizing committee along with BSL Assistant General Manager Chandrashekhar Kumar and Sr. Manager Amit Anand and teachers from different districts of Jharkhand were present. On the second day of the workshop selected teams will be given important suggestions to upgrade their projects.
