Bokaro Steel ED inaugurates J.R.D TATA Vanijya Lab at DPS Bokaro

Bokaro : To help students meet the challenging needs of the present education system and expose them to the dynamic world wherein they face practical situations, to experiment, innovate and learn, DPS Bokaro inaugurated the Commerce Lab –  J.R.D TATA Vanijya Lab in its campus today. Mr Suresh Rangani, Executive Director (Finance and Accounts), Bokaro Steel Plant and Member, School Managing Committee was the Chief Guest of the occasion. Mr. Soumen Chakraborty, Principal, GGPS-Sec V, Fr. Regi C Varghese, Principal, MGM Higher Secondary School, Sec IV, Sr. Kamla Paul, Principal, Holy Cross School, Balidih and Mr. S K Mishra, Principal, DAV Sec-VI were present on the occasion.

The Lab aims to develop the happiness factor of the students as it is completely based on ‘Gamification Pedagogy’ that ensures maximum engagement to make teaching learning effective. Care has been taken to ensure that every activity and game is responsive, immersive, and provides an equitable learning environment that encourages students to become independent learners.

Addressing the students the Chief Guest said that in the present scenario it is very essential that students develop an investing mindset. Students should understand the importance of money and the need to invest in order to reap benefits. This will enable them to be financially free at an early age and they can explore the various opportunities confidently. He added that every student irrespective of the stream he or she is pursuing should have the knowledge of debts, equity and mutual funds.  He advised the students to participate in corporate quizzes and role plays to have a hands-on experience of the financial sector.

Principal, DPS Bokaro, A. S. Gangwar said that this commerce lab is the first of its kind. With the help of simulation games and board games practical information about Financial Literacy, Entrepreneurship and various subjects of Commerce will be given to the students from class VI onwards. This will groom students to become effective learners. It will also help in improving interpersonal relationships, teamwork skills, money management thereby making them job ready.
